Omarichet Edusat
Africa’s
Future
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, space exploration is no longer confined to a select few nations or industries. Omarichet EduSAT brings space technology to Africa’s classrooms, offering a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that empowers students, educators, and young professionals to engage with the fascinating world of satellites and space missions.
At Omarichet, we believe in unlocking the potential of space to address Africa’s development challenges. By creating EduSATs, our mission is to bridge the knowledge gap in space technology, cultivate a new generation of space professionals, and establish Africa as a global leader in satellite engineering, data analytics, and space exploration.
01. The Vision
EduSAT is a fully functional, low-cost satellite model designed specifically for educational purposes. Powered by the versatile Raspberry Pi and equipped with various sensors and components, EduSAT provides an interactive and engaging platform for understanding the fundamental principles of satellite design, operation, and mission control.
The EduSAT is a 1U CubeSat, meaning it is compact and scalable, designed to mimic real-world satellite systems. It features a solar-powered EPS (Electrical Power System) with rechargeable batteries and a versatile mission board that can integrate various sensors to simulate real satellite missions.
The EduSAT program is designed to solve key challenges facing space education in Africa and provide solutions that align with the continent’s growing demand for technology-driven solutions.

03. Scalable
- Fully Functional 1U CubeSat Model:
- The EduSAT is a 1U CubeSat, meaning it is compact and scalable, designed to mimic real-world satellite systems. It features a solar-powered EPS (Electrical Power System) with rechargeable batteries and a versatile mission board that can integrate various sensors to simulate real satellite missions.
- Hands-On Learning Experience:
- The EduSAT offers an opportunity for users to assemble and disassemble the satellite, providing an interactive way to learn about satellite engineering and technology. This hands-on approach enhances understanding and promotes a deeper grasp of the principles of space missions.
- Mission-Ready Sensors:
- EduSAT is equipped with a variety of sensors including accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, pressure sensors, humidity and temperature sensors, UV light sensors, and even a camera module. These sensors allow users to simulate real satellite missions, collect data, and analyze environmental changes, satellite orientation, power usage, and more.
- Onboard Curriculum and Data Visualization:
- EduSAT is powered by a Raspberry Pi that hosts a server offering access to a comprehensive satellite engineering curriculum. Through this curriculum, users can interact with the onboard sensors, process real-time data, and visualize key satellite functions, such as satellite orientation and power management.
- Modular Design:
- The satellite’s modular design makes it easy to customize and expand with additional sensors or components. Users can enhance their learning by integrating new functionalities, experimenting with different configurations, and exploring a range of mission scenarios.
- Affordable Space Education:
- Space education traditionally requires costly infrastructure and equipment, limiting access to space technology in many parts of Africa. EduSAT offers a cost-effective solution, making space education accessible to institutions, universities, and individuals across the continent.
- Encouraging STEM Innovation:
- By providing hands-on experience in satellite engineering and mission control, EduSAT is inspiring the next generation of African innovators. It encourages students to explore STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), nurturing talent and fostering creative solutions to Africa’s pressing problems.
- Practical Application of Space Technologies:
- EduSAT brings real-world satellite applications into the classroom. Whether it’s weather monitoring, agricultural data analysis, or climate change studies, EduSAT offers an opportunity to simulate actual space missions and apply satellite technology to tangible challenges facing Africa.
- Capacity Building for Local Engineers:
- With EduSAT, African students gain not only theoretical knowledge but practical skills needed to design, launch, and operate satellites. These skills are crucial for building a strong local space industry, fostering self-sufficiency, and reducing reliance on foreign technology.
- Promoting Collaboration and Global Engagement:
